StoneBorn Creations Druzy Lace Agate Freeform – Natural Crystal Pocket

This is one of those pieces that just kept getting better as I worked around it.

The agate is packed with incredibly tight lace banding in shades of white, cream, gray and tan, with small flashes of orange and red running through portions of the stone. Instead of completely reshaping the piece, I followed the natural contours and polished around the banding while preserving the large druzy crystal area and natural matrix.

One of my favorite features is the open pocket running through the banded section. The layers actually wrap around the opening, giving you a glimpse into how the agate formed rather than simply showing it from the surface.

The upper portion remains covered in sparkling druzy quartz, including contrasting dark mineral inclusions scattered throughout the crystal pocket. Turn the stone around and you’ll find completely different patterns—from extremely fine parallel bands to bold folds, eyes and sweeping fortification-style layers.

The polished areas have been taken to a smooth, glossy finish while the crystal pocket and portions of the original exterior were intentionally left natural.

The StoneBorn Story:

Every StoneBorn piece is worked individually by hand. I try to let the stone determine the final shape rather than forcing it into something perfectly symmetrical.

With this one, removing the natural crystal section would have meant losing a huge part of what makes the specimen interesting. I chose to work around it instead—bringing the lace agate to a high polish while leaving the druzy pocket exposed and preserving some of the original exterior.

The result is a piece that shows both sides of the stone: the polished patterns hidden inside and the natural formation it started with.

Agate has traditionally been associated with balance, grounding and stability. Its countless individual layers are often seen as a symbol of patience and gradual growth.

Druzy quartz is commonly associated with clarity, positive energy and amplification, making the combination especially popular as a display or meditation stone.
