This piece has that perfect before-and-after story — rough, jagged, and quiet on the outside, then completely opened up through shaping and polishing.

The face revealed soft gray, white, and blue-toned fortification banding, almost like a frozen landscape running across the top of the stone. Below it, the cloudy quartz and darker chalcedony give it a deep, earthy contrast, with little raw crystal textures still left in place so the piece doesn’t lose where it came from.

I shaped and polished this one into a smooth freeform display stone while leaving some of its natural character intact. It has a soft shine, beautiful movement, and that balance I love between refined and raw.

This one had a rough, broken outside, but once the surface started opening up, those clean agate lines began showing themselves. I followed the shape of the stone instead of forcing it into something perfect, letting the banding, quartz, and raw texture all stay part of the finished piece.

That is the part I love most — not changing the stone into something else, just helping reveal what was already there.
