This remarkable lace agate freeform showcases some of the most striking crimson and orange fortification banding I’ve worked with to date. Rather than fully polishing the entire stone, I carefully curved and polished the primary display face while preserving portions of the natural matrix and volcanic pocket, creating a balance between raw geology and finished lapidary art.

The polished surface reveals intricate layers of fiery red, orange, white, gray, and translucent chalcedony flowing through the stone in tight fortification patterns. A natural cavity remains exposed, offering a glimpse into the stone’s original formation and adding depth, texture, and character that simply cannot be replicated.
