StoneBorn Creations Hand-Polished Lace Agate Freeform with Intricate Fortification Banding, Orbicular Eyes & Preserved Natural Matrix

This one was impossible to rush.

I polished this lace agate completely around its natural shape, carefully following every contour while intentionally preserving a strip of the original host rock. The contrast between the mirror-polished agate and the untouched natural matrix tells the story of where this stone began.

The polished faces reveal incredibly tight fortification banding, multiple orbicular “eye” formations, soft blue-gray chalcedony, and subtle cream and tan accents that flow naturally throughout the piece. Every angle offers something different, making it just as enjoyable to turn over in your hands as it is to display.

Rather than removing every trace of nature, I chose to leave part of the original matrix intact—a reminder of the journey from rough river stone to finished artwork.

This agate already held incredible patterns, but instead of completely removing its natural exterior, I wanted to preserve part of its history. That untouched strip of matrix creates a beautiful contrast against the polished agate and serves as a reminder that every finished piece starts as something wild and unassuming.

Each StoneBorn Creation is shaped, polished, and finished by hand in my Vermont workshop with the goal of honoring what nature created—not replacing it.
