StoneBorn Creations Hand-Polished Lace Agate – Natural Matrix & Druzy Display Stone

This is one of those stones where I wanted the natural formation to be just as much a part of the finished piece as the polish.

This beautiful lace agate features incredibly tight layers of white, soft gray and cream banding wrapping around a lighter translucent center. Rather than grinding the entire specimen smooth, I carefully followed the natural bands and contours while polishing, leaving sections of the original reddish-brown matrix and crystal-lined pockets untouched.

The result is a piece that almost gives you a cross-section of how the agate formed—the polished areas reveal layer after layer of intricate lace, while the natural edges still show the rough host material and small druzy crystal pockets surrounding it.

Depending on the angle, completely different patterns appear throughout the stone, from sharp fortification-style lines to soft flowing curves and tiny eye-like formations.

With this one, I followed the lace.

I worked into the areas that exposed those incredible layers while intentionally leaving portions of the original matrix untouched. That combination of polished agate, natural rock and crystal pockets gives the piece a character I wouldn’t want to grind away.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike, and this one will never be duplicated.
