A one-of-a-kind plume agate freeform shaped and polished by hand to reveal the incredible world hidden inside the stone.
The face has been carefully curved and polished to a glass-like finish, exposing translucent gray-blue chalcedony filled with wispy white plumes, warm cream and rust tones, dark mineral inclusions, and an incredible natural pocket that opens directly into the polished face.
Rather than completely reshaping the stone, I intentionally left the opposite side largely natural. The untouched matrix, rough pockets, and original exterior give you a glimpse of what this material looked like before polishing and create a beautiful contrast between raw stone and the hidden interior.
Depending on the angle and lighting, the polished face shifts from soft smoky gray and lavender tones to warmer amber and earthy colors, with plume formations appearing at different depths throughout the chalcedony.

The StoneBorn Story:
Every StoneBorn piece starts with the stone itself.
Instead of forcing every piece into the same shape, I work with the natural structure, patterns and imperfections already there. On this plume agate, I wanted the polished face to reveal what was hidden inside while leaving enough of the original stone untouched to tell the other half of the story.
The result is a piece that can be turned in your hand and viewed from completely different perspectives — polished and translucent from one direction, rugged and natural from the other.
Shaped, polished and finished by hand in Vermont.
Energy & Symbolism:
Plume agate is often associated with grounding, balance and connection to the natural world. Its branching and plume-like formations have long made it a favorite among collectors, with patterns that can resemble landscapes, clouds, moss, feathers or tiny scenes suspended within stone.
Whether you enjoy those traditional associations or simply appreciate the geology, this piece is an incredible example of how much complexity can exist inside an otherwise rugged piece of natural material.
