StoneBorn Creations Textured Green Serpentine Matching Pair – Hand Polished Natural Stone

There was absolutely no way to know this was hiding inside.

From the outside, these were simple smooth gray stones. Once opened, they revealed an incredibly textured interior filled with deep green, olive, blue-green and golden tones. Fine fibrous-looking mineral patterns sweep across both faces, broken up by natural veins, pockets and fractures that give the stone an almost layered appearance.

I hand polished the cut faces while leaving the rounded exterior completely natural, creating a matching pair that shows just how dramatic the difference can be between the outside of a stone and what is hiding within.

Both halves are included and belong together as one set.

Stones like this are exactly why I never judge one by the outside.

Before cutting, there wasn’t much indication of what was actually going on inside. Once opened, the entire face came alive with these wild, almost feather-like patterns running through the green material.

There are little pockets, veins, fractures and changes in texture everywhere you look. Instead of trying to grind all of that character away, I polished the faces while allowing those natural features to remain part of the finished pieces.

Turn either half over and you’re right back to the plain gray exterior they started with. That contrast is probably my favorite part.

Energy & Symbolism:

Serpentine has traditionally been associated with grounding, renewal, transformation and connection to the natural world. Its green coloration has also long been connected symbolically with growth, balance and new beginnings.
