This hand-polished Vermont serpentine began as a rough, weathered stone before revealing a beautiful network of mossy green tones, earthy browns, dark mineral veining, and natural organic patterns hidden beneath the surface.

Rather than cutting the stone, I carefully shaped and polished the exterior to preserve its natural character while bringing out the intricate details that were already there. The result is a smooth, display-ready freeform that showcases the beauty often overlooked in Vermont serpentine.

Many of the stones I work with don’t stand out at first glance. This serpentine was one of them.
